How can museums and community access cable television collaborate to better inform their communities about current and upcoming exhibits, various programs, resources, and other opportunities that are available for the general public?
During this session, learn how museums and one community access television station have created an ongoing series that features and highlights many of the outstanding museums throughout Massachusetts.
Originating from the studios of NewTV in Newton, MA, the speaker produces and hosts Museum Open House. The main purpose of each thirty-minute program is to inform viewers about current and upcoming exhibits, various programs, resources, and other opportunities that are available for the general public. In the past few months, we’ve done programs featuring the following museums: The Museum of Fine Arts, The Boston Children’s Museum, The Fuller Craft Museum, The Fitchburg Art Museum, The McMullen Museum at Boston College, The Springfield Museums, New Art Center, Durant-Kenrick House & Grounds, The Spellman Stamp Museum, The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, and The Peabody Essex Museum. All of these programs are available now on our website: http://www.newtv.org/video/museum-open-house/ In the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring the Massachusetts Historical Society, the Concord Museum, the Boston Anthenaeum, Springfield Museums, the Waterworks Museum, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture.
